Session-related emails: add an .ics invitation as an attachment

  • Updated

Usually, when the admin or designer sends an invitation email for a session, the learner receives a link to synchronise this event with the Outlook calendar.

However, if your company has a strong security system, there's a big chance that the synchronisation with the Outlook calendar doesn't work.

For these cases, we added the possibility to join an .ics invitation as an attachment to the invite email.

⚠️ To receive the .ics invite the user needs to enable the setting in the edit email templates page.

⚠️ This setting is only available for emails related to sessions.

Where?
Emails > edit templates > enable the setting

⚠️Be sure to check this box for each perimeter and language used on the platform

⚠️Gmail Users will automatically receive an invitation they can accept or refuse

⚠️For Outlook Users

  1. In Outlook, select File Open & Export > Import/Export.
  2. In Import and Export Wizard box, select Import an iCalendar (.ics) and click Next.
  3. Select the calendar file from your computer and select OK.
  4. Select Open as New. The items are automatically imported into your calendar.
