Translate a course

  • Updated
How to translate my course? How to realize a translation outside of Rise Up platform by importing / exporting a CSV ?

Your platform is aimed at an international audience?

After having activated internationalization on your platform, you can then translate the content of your course courses.

Manage course translations

Access: Side Menu > Courses > View then ⚙️ in the selected course thumbnail.

Normal access to the management of course translations is done via the Course management screen, by clicking on the Manage Translations button :

It is located below the course data sheet in the top left corner of the screen. You then access the Translation Management Page :

The original language of the course (in this example English) is presented at the top of the list with a progress of "translation" up to 100%.

Note: when creating a course, you must determine the language in which the course is created ("source" language). It will no longer be possible to change the original language (or source language) of the course once you have started to translate the course.

In the example above, the Spanish translation has not started and therefore it is not published. As soon as the translation is finalized, it will be possible to publish this version by clicking in the corresponding checkbox.

Add a translation

To start a translation in a new language, click on + Add translations and choose, from the pop-up that appears, the language of your choice. You can even choose multiple languages to enable multiple translations at the same time.

Edit ✏️

You are redirected to the course translation interface, -> for each stage of the course, you will have an interface where you can view the text in the source language and an area in which you can translate this text while always having the original text in front of you.

> The "Data" tab contains the details of the structure of your content, the content in your original language (default language) and a column to complete to integrate your content once translated.

Element: type of element to translate: courses, module, stage or session;

Attribute: detail of each element;

Default language: content on the default language to be translated;

Translated language: fill in this column with the desired translation;

Import 📥

A window will invite you to upload your completed CSV file with your translation. Please note that once sent, the content of the file will erase the current translation, if applicable.

⚠️ When importing the CSV with your translation, the formatting is not preserved. You will therefore have to carry out the formatting in the interface of the platform.

In the same way, it is not possible to modify the steps documents, videos, and other content other than the text via the import of CSV.
