Prerequisites:
Access to an administrator or group manager account with the necessary permissions to create training paths.
A clear understanding of the skills or roles the training path is supposed to develop.
Creating a training path offers many benefits, especially when it comes to achieving specific educational goals within a company.
- Structured Learning A training path provides a structured approach to learning by organizing complementary training sessions into a coherent program. This ensures that learners follow a logical sequence of topics, facilitating better understanding and assimilation.
- Targeted Skill Development By aligning multiple training modules with a common educational goal, a path helps systematically build the skills and knowledge needed to achieve that goal. This targeted approach is especially beneficial in corporate environments where specific skills are often required.
- Customization and Flexibility Training paths can be customized to meet the unique needs of different learner groups within a company. They allow for flexibility in learning as learners can progress at their own pace, focusing on areas most relevant to them.
- Increased Engagement and Motivation When learners see a clear path to achieving their goals, they are more likely to stay engaged and motivated. Knowing that each training in the path contributes to a larger goal can increase the perceived value of the training.
- Efficient Use of Resources By grouping related training sessions into a single path, organizations can better allocate resources such as time and money, ensuring that training efforts are targeted and effective.
- Evaluation and Feedback A well-designed training path allows for regular evaluation and feedback, helping learners track their progress and identify areas for improvement. This continuous feedback loop is essential for effective learning.
- Scalability Training paths can be easily expanded to accommodate more learners or to include additional training as organizational needs evolve.
By incorporating principles from learning science, these paths can use techniques such as spaced repetition, varied practice, and active learning to enhance the progressive assimilation and application of knowledge. Overall, a training path is a strategic approach to professional development that aligns learning activities with business goals, ensuring that learners and organizations derive optimal benefit.
Creating a Training Path
Navigate to the side menu and select 'Training Paths', click 'Create' to start a new training path.
Configuring a Training Path
Enter the 'Path Name', choose the 'Scope': Select either 'Internal' or 'Partner', if the 'Partner' option is selected, specify the partner platform.
Note: Once defined, the scope cannot be changed.
Optional Settings:
If you wish, make the path sequential to require courses to be taken in a specific order.
This is recommended if you want to prioritize certain modules. We recommend creating discussion channels for the path by checking the box 'Create a board in the community page'.
Building Training Paths
Click 'Next' to access the building interface, use the editing block to drag and drop your courses to build the timeline of your training path. You can also click the '' to add courses in one click. Add a certificate at the end of your training path if necessary.
Organizing Training Paths
Click and hold the 3 horizontal bars to prioritize your courses, use the cross in the top right corner to delete a block if necessary.
Once you have selected your certificate, you can choose to generate it even if the course or training path has not been successfully completed. It is preferable to select this option, as it will facilitate the daily management of your learners in case of multiple failed quiz attempts.
This often happens and can hinder the progress of many students who have succeeded after several failed attempts. In fact, we do not generate certificates retroactively if the course is completed, so the learner will have to retake all the modules. Hence the advantage of selecting this option, which will still allow you to obtain certificates.
Save and Publish the Training Path
There you go, you have finally completed creating your Training Path - it was so simple. You now have access to the following actions:
Edit your content
View your general statistics at a glance
Enroll your learners in your training sessions
Admin Settings and Permissions
Here, you will find both restricted and unrestricted permissions for your course designers. The system works as follows: designers with restricted permissions can only modify the courses they have created, while those with unrestricted permissions can modify all courses, including those they did not create.
Here is a secondary option we recommend enabling to make your learners' navigation smoother.
-
Problem: Unable to modify the scope after creation.
Solution: Scope settings are final once saved. Ensure proper configuration before finalizing the training path.
Problem: Issues adding courses to the training path.
Solution: Verify that the courses are not restricted by the chosen scope. If problems persist, refresh the page or contact support. -
Can group managers modify training paths?
