Takeaways: Optimise Learning and Retention

Have already created training steps to generate a takeaway.

What are Takeaways?

Takeaways serve as concise summaries or essential points extracted from the training material. They are designed to reinforce learning by highlighting the essential information that learners need to retain. This feature is particularly useful for:

  1. Reviewing Key Concepts: Helps learners quickly recap important subjects.
  2. Improving Retention: Helps to better retain information through repeated exposure.
  3. Providing Quick References: Offers learners a convenient reference point for future use as it is available for download.

Activate Takeaways 

To activate takeaways, go to your sidebar menu , click on 'view' then select one of your training courses to edit it using the 'pencil' icon

Once your training is selected, at the bottom left you will see the 'Takeaway' option icon deactivated. To activate it, simply click on it and select the 'Generate key points' button. Remember that at least 1 takeaway must be created to activate the
feature.

At the end of the generation, you will access the takeaway activation button, you will just need to finalise by triggering the button, and activate the icon selection at the same time if you wish, which will allow you to customise the key points of your takeaway.

Configure Takeaways

  1. Customisation:

    Instructors can add icons and titles for each takeaway, providing a visual cue to learners.

  2. Content Editing:

    The content of each takeaway can be edited to include formatted text, ensuring that the information is clear and accessible. The editor supports various text formatting options to highlight the key points of your training.

  3. Add/Remove and Download Takeaways :

    Once configured, you can continue to add your key points by clicking 'Add a new key point', similarly, you can remove them at any time, as well as download them in .PDF format.

    We recommend downloading them to ensure that no errors have slipped into your file, you can then inspect the final result. Remember to save your changes as you go.

Takeaways from the Learner's Perspective

From the learner's side, the takeaways will only be available for download at the end of each training, thus ensuring a significant memory anchoring in the long term.

Managing Takeaway Status

Status Indicators:
The platform uses status indicators to show whether takeaways are activated or deactivated. This visual cue helps instructors quickly assess the current state of their takeaways.

Validation and Updates:
If a training is already published, any update to the takeaways requires validation to ensure that learners receive the most up-to-date information. You will be alerted to this requirement by a message and a change in the colour of the takeaway icon . This process ensures that all learners have access to consistent and accurate content.

Translation and Accessibility

Multilingual Support:
The platform supports translation, allowing takeaways to be accessible in multiple languages. This feature broadens the reach of the training material, making it more inclusive.
