Prerequisites
Administrator access is required to configure the catalogue banner and category menu.
Categories must be created and published for them to appear in the category menu.
The Resource Centre is accessed from My learning, not from the catalogue.

Key Elements

• Banner — a customisable visual displayed at the top of the catalogue page.
• Category menu — a drop-down menu, available from the "Catalogue" tab, that lists published categories and sub-categories.
• Search and filters — fixed on the left side of the page for use while browsing.
• Resource Centre — accessible from My learning.

I. Configure the catalogue banner

Location: Administration Settings > Catalogue section.

1. Go to your administration Settings, Catalogue section.
2. Upload or update the banner image (recommended format: panoramic, 1920x300px maximum).
3. Save your changes.

Result: The banner is displayed at the top of the catalogue page for all learners.

II. Configure the category menu

Location: The category menu opens from the Catalogue tab and lists published categories.

An administrator can show or hide the category menu, depending on whether the catalogue is structured by categories.

• Show the category menu if your offering is structured by categories.
• Hide the category menu if you do not use categories, or prefer a direct path to courses.

Result: Learners see a per-category drop-down under the "Catalogue" tab, with a hover (desktop) or tap (mobile) effect on categories and sub-categories.

III. Locate the Resource Centre

Location: My learning section.

The Resource Centre is not part of the catalogue. Learners access it from their My learning area.

IV. Learner navigation and best practices

The banner is displayed across the top of the catalogue page.
Categories are centred on the page for direct access.
Search and filters remain fixed on the left while browsing.
Hovering (or tapping, on mobile) over a category shows its sub-categories.
The "Catalogue" tab menu provides a per-category drop-down for quicker access.

FAQ & Troubleshooting

• Issue: The catalogue category menu does not appear.
  Solution: It may be disabled on the administrator side. Use the categories displayed at the centre of the page, or ask an administrator to enable the category menu in the Catalogue settings.
  Issue: I can't find the Resource Centre.
  Solution: It is accessed from My learning, not from the catalogue.
  Issue: My categories do not appear or are incomplete.
  Solution: Check that they are created and published, and that your profile has the required access rights. Refresh the page if a category was just created.
  Issue: The banner does not display correctly, or appears blurry.
  Solution: Upload a high-resolution panoramic image with a reasonable file size, then save. Add alternative text for accessibility.
  Issue: Search does not return relevant results.
  Solution: Check the active filters in the left column, try a different keyword, and use Reset to start from a clear view.
• Can I hide the category menu if I don't use categories?
  - Yes, an administrator can disable it in the Catalogue settings.
  Where is the Resource Centre located?
  - In My learning.
  Can I customise the catalogue banner?
  - Yes, via Settings > Catalogue (image and alternative text).
  Are categories mandatory?
  - No. The catalogue works without them, and the category menu can be hidden.
  Does the hover effect work on mobile?
  - On mobile, hover is replaced by tap to display sub-categories.
