Optimising Absenteeism Management: What’s New on Rise Up

  • Updated

Prerequisite: Admin or Manager group access required.

Key Benefits:

  1. Time-saving & Automation — Easily transfer absentees to new sessions without tedious manual management.
  2. Centralised & Accurate Tracking — View the full history of absences, transfers, and user status progression.
  3. Improved Experience for All — Reduced risk of losing track, automatic notifications, and learners can reschedule themselves.

Overview & Objectives

Absentee management enables you to monitor and process absences in a structured way. Now, absentees can be transferred or waitlisted, with complete tracking of their journey.

  • Access absence management: For sessions with “Validated” status, click the Set Attendance button. Select the relevant users and choose the action to perform.

What’s New in Absentee Management?

This new feature allows you to transfer absentees, track their status (present, absent, transferred), send alerts for full sessions, and delegate management to users if needed.

Main new features:

  • Learners with “validated/absent” status can now be transferred, moving them to “transferred/absent” status.
  • Transferred users remain visible in the missed session.
  • If enabled by the admin, learners are notified and can select a new session themselves.
  • Custom exports include these new statuses for better tracking—find this info in the Classroom Session Information export for validated sessions and session registrations.

Steps for Admins: How to Manage Absenteeism?

  1. Access the absentee list
From a session, click “Absentees” to view the list of affected people.

  2. Transfer or add to waitlist
Select one or more absentees, then use the “Transfer” action. Tip: use filters and bulk actions to speed things up.
  3. Notification & self-enrolment
If enabled, the learner receives a notification and can self-enrol in a new session. From their training space, they’ll be notified of their absenteeism and receive email #221 once marked absent by an admin or designer.
  4. Validation & tracking
Statuses are updated: you can check tracking in exports and on the dashboard.

Useful notes:
If you don’t see the new options, check your permissions.
