Activate SCORM Launcher in Rise Up

  • Updated

[The SCORM Launcher] is an essential tool for Rise Up administrators who wish to share training with external clients not wanting to use the Rise Up LMS platform. This guide explains how to export a training in SCORM format and manage users registered via an external LMS. SCORM, which stands for "Sharable Content Object Reference Model," is a widely adopted e-learning standard that aims to improve how online education is delivered and accessed. Developed to ensure that educational content can be easily shared and reused across different systems, SCORM offers several key advantages:

  1. Interoperability: SCORM ensures that e-learning content can operate on various Learning Management Systems (LMS), thus avoiding compatibility issues and allowing smooth integration.
  2. Accessibility: By adhering to SCORM standards, educational content becomes more accessible to users worldwide, ensuring consistent learning experiences across different platforms.
  3. Reusability: Content developed under SCORM can be reused in multiple courses and contexts, saving time and resources by avoiding the need to create new materials from scratch for each new course.
  4. Cost-Effectiveness: By facilitating content reuse and interoperability, SCORM reduces development and maintenance costs, making it a cost-effective solution for organizations.
  5. Enhanced Learning Experience: SCORM supports dynamic sequencing and personalization of learning paths, allowing courses to be tailored to individual learner needs, thereby enhancing the overall learning experience.
  6. Risk Reduction: SCORM-compliant content is future-proof, meaning it can be used on current and future systems without the risk of becoming obsolete.

These advantages make SCORM a powerful tool for organizations seeking to implement effective, flexible, and efficient e-learning solutions.
Prerequisites
An administrator account on the Rise Up LMS platform.
A training already created on Rise Up.

Enable the SCORM Launcher Option

If you wish to enable the SCORM Launcher option, we invite you to contact your CSM, or our support service to unlock this option for you for free in a few clicks.
The SCORM Launcher feature allows you to generate a SCORM package (2004 4th edition) containing all your training and provide it to your client. They can load it on their LMS like any other package, and the training and its content remain entirely on your Rise Up LMS. You retain control over your content, and you can update or make it available at any time.

The SCORM package being a light package (redirection URL = no embedded content), the content remains fully hosted on your Rise Up platform. Therefore, when you use a SCORM package on another LMS platform, users will be redirected via a Rise Up URL, which involves the automatic creation of a user account on your platform, consuming a license or token depending on your contract modality.
Note that if you no longer use our LMS, consequently, these SCORM packages dedicated to your external clients will no longer be available.

Create and Export a Training on Rise Up

Download the SCORM file once the export is complete. You can now send the exported SCORM file to your external client, who will be able to import it into their own LMS.

Managing Users Registered via the Client's LMS

Each time a user registers via the client's LMS, a user is automatically created in Rise Up. The training management page on Rise Up is updated with the new user, showing their progress and score. Note that a token is consumed for each new user registered.
