Flash The AI Assistant
v26.07LearnersJuly 2026
The Assistant Flash is available to all learners by default from the navigation bar. No specific role or permission is required.
Flash operates only within the scope of your platform's content and Rise Up's product documentation β it does not access external knowledge sources.
Flash is an Assistant is a conversational chat interface accessible from the learner navigation bar and the homepage across the entire platform. It helps learners find relevant learning content, get answers about courses they have already completed, and perform common platform actions β without navigating manually.
Answers are generated strictly from platform data (courses, catalogue, learner records) and Rise Up's product knowledge base. The assistant does not draw on general external knowledge.
Unlike a tutor or AI coach, the assistant does not explain concepts or teach content. When a learner asks a question, it identifies related training or content items and redirects accordingly. If no match is found, it provides a minimal response and states it cannot redirect.
Β
- Find learning materials: ask a question to be redirected to a matching course, course step, or catalogue item.
- Platform how-to help: download a certificate, change password, switch interface language, find goals, and other common actions.
- Transparent fallback: when no relevant content is found, the assistant explicitly states it cannot help rather than providing inaccurate information.
- Redirect-only behaviour: the assistant identifies and redirects to relevant content β it does not explain concepts or teach the content itself.
- Removable chat bubble: learners can remove the Flash assistant window at any given time if they do not wish to use it.
Β
I β Where to find the Learner Assistant
The Learner Assistant is accessible from the learner navigation bar and from a dedicated widget on the homepage. It is available on all pages of the learner experience β it is not tied to a specific section or course.
- Log in to the platform as a learner.
- Locate the Flash Assistant Icon in the top navigation bar.
Β
II β Finding learning content
Learners can type a question or describe what they are looking for. The assistant searches across available courses, catalogue items, and course steps.
- Open the Learner Assistant from the navigation bar or homepage widget.
- Type your question or topic in the chat input field β for example: "Do you have a course on data protection?" or "What did I learn about GDPR?"
- The assistant returns a response and, when a matching item exists, a direct link to the relevant course or step.
If a learner asks a general question not directly linked to a specific training, the assistant behaves as follows:
- It provides a minimal answer and redirects the learner toward relevant platform content β always a training, course step, or catalogue item.
- If no relevant platform content exists to redirect to, the assistant only states it cannot answer.
Β
III β Getting platform help
Beyond learning content, the assistant handles common how-to questions about the platform itself. Simply type your question in natural language.
- How to download a certificate
- How to change your password
- How to switch your interface language
- How to find your learning goals
- Other standard platform actions
Β
IV β Understanding assistant responses
Every response from the Learner Assistant is grounded in one of these sources:
- Platform content: courses, steps, catalogue items available to the learner.
- Learner data: completed courses and personal progression records.
- Rise Up product knowledge: documented platform features and how-to guidance.
Β
FAQ & Troubleshooting
-
Issue: The assistant says it cannot help, but the course exists on the platform.
Solution: The Learner Assistant only searches content visible to the learner's account. If the course is not published, not visible to the learner's group, or outside their catalogue perimeter, the assistant will not find it. Verify the course's publication status and group visibility settings.
Issue: The assistant responds in the wrong language.
Solution: The assistant responds in the learner's interface language. Ask the learner to verify their interface language in their account settings and update it if needed.
Issue: Platform help answers seem outdated or do not match the platform configuration.
Solution: The assistant draws on Rise Up's product knowledge base. Heavily customised platforms (renamed menus, custom workflows) may not be fully reflected. Escalate to your Rise Up Customer Success contact if the issue persists.

Is the Learner Assistant available on mobile?
β Not yet, for the moment.
Can the assistant register me for a course or take actions on my behalf?
β No. The Learner Assistant is informational only. It can redirect you to a course or explain how to perform an action, but it does not execute platform actions on your behalf.

Does the assistant use general AI knowledge like ChatGPT?
β No. Responses are generated strictly from your platform's data and Rise Up's product knowledge base. The assistant does not access external internet sources or general AI training data.
Is this the same as Forge?
