How to Translate a Course

Prerequisites 
- Access to a Rise Up admin account with permissions to manage courses.
- Internationalization must be activated on your platform.

Access the Translation and Edition Management Screen

Navigate to the side menu, select 'Courses', view the course list, and click the 3 dots icon on the desired course thumbnail to chose the option 'Manage translations'.

You can also access it once you are in your course management: 
Click on 'Manage Translations' located below the course data sheet in the top left corner.

Add a New Translation

Click on '+ Add translations' and select the desired language(s) from the pop-up menu.

Edit translation

Select the pencil icon to access the detailed editing of your courses, the you will be able to customize and modify each module on the left side menu, step by step, according to your needs. Don't hesitate to use the AI Lia assistant, which will simplify your task and save you translation time.

Translate Content

Once you'll be redirected to the course translation interface you can see the text in the source language and a field to input the translation.

Export/Import Translation 

If you prefer to translate externally, export the course content as a CSV file, translate it, and then reimport it.

This feature improves accessibility by allowing learners to engage with content in the language they are most comfortable with, facilitating comprehension and the overall learning experience.

  • Issue: Translation progress shows 0% despite uploading a translated CSV.
    Solution: Ensure the CSV file format matches the required structure. Check the 'Data' tab in the export interface for format details.
    Issue: Formatting issues after importing translations.
    Solution:Formatting must be adjusted manually in the platform interface after import, as CSV imports do not preserve formatting.
  • FAQs:
    - Can I translate a course into multiple languages at once?
    Yes, you can select multiple languages when adding translations to enable simultaneous translation workflows.

    - How do I handle translations for non-text elements like images or videos?
    Non-text elements cannot be translated via CSV import. These elements need manual adjustment in the course design.
